NERVOUS TO INVITE HIM?
WE'VE GOT YOU COVERED.

How to invite him to take the course

You don't have to say it perfectly.

You don't have to convince him.

You don't even have to know how to start.

We built the words, the framework,

and the pathway.

Your only job is to open the door.

You have tried to have this conversation so many times.

(AND It never ends well)

You know exactly what you want to say. You've practiced it in the shower, rehearsed it driving home, written the angry email you didn't send. And still, you don't say it.

Because you know how it goes. You say something careful and considered, and somewhere in the first thirty seconds, the conversation stops being about what you need and becomes about managing his reaction. You spend the next hour making sure he's okay. And you're still carrying everything you walked in with (plus the weight of what just happened).

You're not bad at communicating. You're exhausted from doing all the emotional labor — including the labor of asking for it to change.

IT'S NOT HIM. IT'S NOT YOU.

This imbalance is inherited and can be changed.

You know his love is real. He believes he is trying. But there is a gap between what he values and how he shows up as a partner.

➜ Only 7% of homes report equally sharing domestic labor.

This isn't a flaw in your marriage, it's the water every one of us has been swimming in.

➜ This course is not here to put him on trial.

It was not designed to make him feel like a defendant — or make you feel like you have to prosecute a case.

➜ It is therapist-designed to help him finally understand what's been happening, without shame, without a scorecard, without feeling like he's already lost. (And we guide you through every step.)

HOW WE HELP HIM STAY OPEN

We speak to him as a good man.
We just help his actions live up to his values.

THE FEARS THAT HOLD US BACK

We've been *exactly* where you are.
Too tired to explain it or worried to get it wrong. Too exhausted to manage his reaction on top of everything else.

How to Invite Him To This Work Without Triggering Shutdown

01

THE FEAR:

"He'll shut down or get defensive."

This is the most common fear we hear, and it's completely valid. Most conversations about the mental load go sideways because they land as accusation. When we aren't ready to receive feedback, we can have finely tuned defenses, and a single wrong word can activate them.

Our scripts (and every step of the course) were built specifically to bypass that reaction. We use research-based language, not "you always" statements. We use structure, not scorecards. We wrote every word to feel like an invitation.

02

THE FEAR:

"What if bringing this up makes things worse?"

Let's be honest: avoidance has a cost too. The resentment you're already carrying is doing something to your relationship and you, every day.

The version of this that makes things worse isn't the conversation, it's the years of silence around it.

It takes courage. The only way out is through. We built the safest, most thoughtful path through. And we'll be right there with you, as your translator and advocate, for every step of it.

03

THE FEAR:

"I'll end up comforting him after I try to speak up."

You finally say the thing you've been holding, and somehow you end up managing his feelings about it. You leave the conversation having done even more emotional labor than when you walked in.

You won't be doing this alone. We wrote the words. We designed the framework. We built the "For Him" page specifically so you don't have to translate, explain, or soften. You open the door — we help him walk through it.

WE BUILT THE COURSE WITH EACH OF THESE FEARS IN MIND

We revised and reshot this course over 100 times.

As therapists — and as women who’ve lived this —we built it help him not shut down and invite him to show up as a true partner.

The Reconnection Approach

(You're overwhelmed, but the foundation is solid.)

BEST FOR: Couples who feel emotionally connected but stretched thin.

WHEN TO USE: It's more exhaustion than resentment. The love is steady, something's just slipping.

"I've been feeling the weight of everything we're both juggling, and I've been thinking about how much I want us to feel more like a team again…"

The Practical Systems Approach

(He responds better to logistics than emotions.

BEST FOR: Pragmatic, solutions-oriented partners

WHEN TO USE: : "Let's fix the system" lands better than "Let's talk about our relationship."

"Hey, can I run something by you? I found something that gives couples really practical tools for making home life feel more balanced…"

The Honest Vulnerability Approach

There's distance. Past conversations haven't worked.

BEST FOR: Emotional distance or recurring conflict loops.

WHEN TO USE: Sugarcoating would feel dishonest. There's something real that needs to be said.

"I know we both care about this relationship. And I also know we've been carrying things that don't always get talked about in a way that feels good…"

Not sure how to explain the
Equal House course?

We normalize it.

Most couples struggle with this dynamic.

It's not about his character. It's inherited structure, built into how men and women were raised, what they were taught to notice, and what they were never taught to see. He'll learn he's not uniquely broken. He's just unconditioned.

We start from respect.

We speak to him as a good man.

We assume he cares about fairness. We assume his love is real. We're not here to catalog everything he's done wrong, we're here to show him what he's been missing and give him a path forward.

We clarify the gap.

He believes in equality. We help him live it.

We explain the difference between helping and shared ownership without blame. He'll understand why his effort hasn't always landed, and what changes when it becomes true partnership instead.

We share data, not accusation.

Research. Language. Frameworks.

Not "you always" statements. Not a list of grievances. He'll learn the neuroscience and sociology behind why this happens in most households — so he sees the system, not just the complaint.

We frame equity as strength.

This is not man-hating. We help him to be more a values-aligned man.

Shared ownership isn't about becoming smaller or softer. It's about integrity. It's about being the kind of man who leads at home the way he says he leads everywhere else. A man who is trusted, relied on, and genuinely seen as a partner.

We give him a path forward.

Clear tools. Concrete systems.

No shame spiral. No guesswork. He won't leave the page feeling guilty and paralyzed. He'll leave knowing exactly what to do next.

Just send him the link and we will be your translator.

WHAT WE'VE HEARD FROM WOMEN IN THE COURSE

My husband has always considered himself a feminist. But I didn't feel like that at home. This course helped him see the gap between what he believed and what he was actually doing. He went from saying "I support women" to actually supporting me."
